Wildfire's World
Beware of falling objects.
Hey, haven't been here in a while.

I still have one of these? Huh.

Anyway, reason why I'm here: it's official. I'm going to Germany for a week in September. Am I excited? Do you THINK!?

There are certain constants in life. My mother being unable to math is both a comfort (from being a constant in life) and a consternation (just because).

Why yes, I'm in Selinsgrove for the weekend, why do you ask?

The mother of a Pittsburgh friend is looking for an immediate, temporary safe-space for her dog, Henry. Henry is a fixed, pure-blood cocker spaniel, about 9 or 10 years old. He has no medical issues, is very friendly, and gets along with other animals and small children. All his effects (bowl, food, leash, etc.) will come with him. He is in a potentially dangerous situation and needs shelter as soon as possible. She lives in Homestead, but is herself in different, also temporary safe-space where she cannot keep him. Her daughter is the point-of-contact; if you or someone you know can help, please comment here for contact information. The entry is public for easier linkage.

Thank you.

I was in Monroeville, having some work done on the car. While I'm waiting for the work to be finished, I hole up in Barnes & Noble.

So I'm sitting in one of the corners reading something or other. A guy approaches me and asks for the time. I give it to him. He thanks me and moves on. A moment later this girl comes around the corner and say "Chris Aumiller, is that you?"

Turns out it's the girl I took to my senior prom.

She and her husband are now living around the Somerset area, and they came in to town to do some shopping. We chatted for a moment before she went on to do whatever it was she was doing. I sit down and read for a bit more.

Then I decide to call my mother.

The conversation was as follows:

C: Hi Mom!
M: How are you?
C: Good! You'll never guess who I ran in to today.
M: Your senior prom date?
C: How did you know?
M: I'm sitting with her mother right now. And she called a few minutes ago to tell her the exact same thing.

Small world? Right now I'm trying to make sure I don't bash my head in on the ceiling joists. ^^
